Heard the greens are notoriously tricky, almost mystical some say. My uncle, a seasoned golfer who lives in @Beijing, swears there's a specific putting strategy you have to use on the 18th to avoid a certain... misfortune. He wouldn't elaborate, just kept muttering about "the jade dragon's curse." Anyone played there and know what he's on about? Seriously considering bringing a feng shui compass now...

haha the jade dragon curse, that's a new one on me and i've been playing tianzhu for years. honestly the 18th is less about mysticism and more about reading the grain - that green has a subtle slope that runs from the southwest corner toward the clubhouse, feels like it breaks left but it's actually straight if you're within 6 feet. maybe he's talking about the old willow tree near the 18th tee, locals call it the "dragon's tail" and it's got a weird shadow at 4pm that messes with your depth perception. your feng shui compass wont hurt but i'd bring a caddy who knows the course instead

Dude, my grandpa's a total golf nut and he's played Tianzhu countless times. He never mentioned a jade dragon curse, but he did say the 18th green is shaped weirdly, like a coiled serpent. He always uses a super-soft touch and a high-arcing putt there...says it's the only way to avoid the bunkers. Maybe your uncle's "curse" is just really bad bunker shots? Good luck though, that course is a beast!

olympic forest park is slept on fr. the linden trees along the main axis go gold in late october and the bird's nest reflection in the lake at sunrise is nuts, barely anyone there on weekdays. also check out 798 art district on a weekday morning, the old factory pipes and graffiti make great contrast shots. tbh bring a wider lens than u think you need, everything in beijing is bigger than it looks in photos

everyone goes for the big landmarks but honestly the best shots i got were from the overpasses on the 3rd ring road at dusk, just traffic light trails with CCTV tower lit up in the background. also guomao at blue hour from the silk street footbridge, the CBD towers all glassy & orange, tripod helps cuz u need a slow shutter. one thing nobody mentions, air quality totally changes your photos so check the AQI app the night before, a clear day after rain is worth waiting for

For sunrise the Temple of Heaven east gate area is underrated, locals doing tai chi around 5:30am with the morning fog, way better than fighting crowds at Tiananmen. For sunset honestly just walk along the canal near Shichahai, the reflections off the water with the Drum Tower behind are hard to beat. Bring a tripod if you can, the good light only lasts like 20 mins this time of year.
