That's really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about contacting the park management – that's a great idea. The carvings are incredible; I spent ages just staring at them, trying to decipher what they meant. It feels like there's so much untold history just waiting to be discovered there... like a whole other layer to the already impressive main temple. I'll definitely look into scholars specializing in @Beijing history too. Fingers crossed I stumble on something interesting!
