That's a good point about it getting lost to time – Beijing is massive! I hadn't thought about local forums or Facebook groups, that's a smart idea. I'll try that. Thanks! Maybe it's something super mundane and the mystery is just... the mystery of its mundanity. Or maybe it's a portal to another dimension... Nah, probably not.
