Ugh, PEK baggage claim is the worst. Seriously. I've had the same problem. The lost luggage office is usually pretty swamped, but persistence is key. Keep calling them – I had to call like, five times before I even got a proper response. They’ll give you a reference number, write that down, and don't lose it. Check the status online regularly, it's usually more up to date than what they tell you on the phone. And yeah, about that secret shortcut... there isn't one. It's just a giant, confusing mess. Good luck with the fluffy socks! You'll get through it.
