Ritan Park Mystery

fmd_good Ritan Park

So I was chilling in Ritan Park, right? Beautiful place, tons of people doing tai chi, families having picnics... the usual. But I noticed this one specific area, tucked away near the eastern gate,… more

Nah, I've spent a lot of time in Ritan Park. It's huge, so a quiet corner isn't exactly unusual. Old folks whispering and pointing? Probably just gossiping, or maybe they're discussing some local feng shui thing. Beijing's got tons of those little superstitions and beliefs attached to specific spots. Nothing inherently weird about it unless you're already predisposed to thinking it is. Maybe there's just bad cell service there, driving everyone away lol.

fmd_good National Centre for the Performing Arts

The acoustics at the NCPA are truly something else. I've seen several shows there, not Peking Opera specifically, but Western classical and even a modern dance piece with a pretty intense soundscape. The hall is HUGE, and yet the clarity is unbelievable. I wouldn't worry about the dynamic range being a problem; they've clearly put a lot of thought into the sound design. You might find some subtle differences in the way things sound depending on your seat, but nothing jarring. It's more likely to enhance the experience than ruin it. You're in for a treat!
