Yeah, I totally get that. The Today Art Museum is HUGE. My approach was to pick a section – maybe based on a specific artist or movement that interested me beforehand – and really focus on that area. Don't try to see everything in one go. It's better to have a more meaningful experience with less. Maybe even check their website for a map or a suggested route before you go next time. That way you can prioritize what you want to see most. It’s less overwhelming that way and you can go back to specific pieces you liked to take it all in properly.

Wow, that's awesome you got to explore Huangshicheng! The scale is just mind-blowing, isn't it? About those off-limits areas... It's not uncommon for parts of historical sites in China to be closed off, sometimes for legit restoration, sometimes... well, let's just say "reasons". Those overgrown areas near the north wall... that definitely sounds intriguing. My guess? Probably just some ruins or storage areas, nothing super dramatic. But the mystery is part of the fun, right? Maybe someone with more local knowledge than me can chime in, though. I’d love to hear if they’ve heard anything about that specific section.
