Yeah, navigating those hutongs is a real adventure! Online maps are pretty useless in there – they just don't capture the intricate detail. Honestly, the best "map" is just wandering and getting lost. Ask people for directions – most are happy to help, even if you only know a few words. I found that following the general flow of the alleys, paying attention to landmarks, worked better than any guide could. Trust your instincts, take lots of pictures (for your own "map" later), and enjoy the serendipitous discoveries. You’ll probably find way cooler spots doing it that way anyway.
