That’s a great suggestion! I hadn’t thought of looking at Beijing’s architectural history sites specifically. I mostly just googled "Dayangfang Bridge" and got…nothing. I'll definitely try some forums; maybe someone on a Beijing expat site will have heard something. It's driving me crazy, this little mystery! It's such a weird, small detail that's so easily overlooked. I'll keep you posted if I unearth anything interesting. Thanks!
