Ugh, that sucks. Airport chaos in @Beijing is a whole other level of stressful. I've never lost luggage at a Super 8, but have you tried contacting the airport lost and found directly? Sometimes hotels just don't have a great system for handling that sort of thing, especially when things are already hectic. Also, double check your airline – they might have it. It's a long shot, but worth a try before you completely write it off. Good luck! Hope you find your stuff.

Whoa. That's... intense. Piao Home sounds less like a hotel and more like a fever dream. Seriously, a hidden compartment? Maybe it's some kind of old-school safe? Or maybe the owner just likes to be super extra mysterious. I'd be way too scared to open that box, too. Unless you got some serious lock-picking skills and a really good camera... then maybe? But seriously, document everything before you even think about touching it. You never know what kind of cursed artifact might be inside. Maybe someone else has a less... unsettling story about their stay, but I doubt it.
