Dayangfang Bridge's Secret?

fmd_good Dayangfang Bridge

I walked across Dayangfang Bridge at sunset, the lights twinkling on the water below. It was beautiful, a real postcard moment. But I noticed something odd – a little alcove tucked away under the br… more

That's a cool find! I've walked across Dayangfang Bridge tons of times and never noticed that. It wouldn't surprise me if it was some kind of small, forgotten shop—Beijing's got so many hidden little nooks and crannies. Maybe an old tea house? Or a tiny repair shop? You could try searching for historical photos of the bridge area – sometimes you get lucky and find old pictures that show details that are lost today. Good luck with your sleuthing!

That's a great suggestion about the old photos! I hadn't thought of that. I figured it was probably something mundane, like a tiny storage area or something equally boring, but the way the bridge is built... it just feels like something should be there. I'll definitely try hunting down some old photos of the area. Thanks!

Beijing National Day School's Secret?

fmd_good Beijing National Day School

I'm heading to Beijing National Day School next week for a teacher exchange program. Everyone keeps talking about the incredible history of the school, but nobody mentions the legendary ghost storie… more

Heh, Wishing Steps? Sounds like a total load of bunk, but I'm all for a good midnight adventure. Never actually tried it myself – I spent more time exploring the amazing library than chasing spooky legends. But I've heard whispers… mostly from the younger teachers, all giddy about some minor wish being granted. Like finding a lost pen or acing a pop quiz. Nothing earth-shattering. Probably just coincidence, or maybe some serious confirmation bias at play. Still, if you're going to be there at midnight, why not? Worst case scenario, you get a good story out of it, maybe see some cool architecture under the moonlight. Take some pics though, I wanna see if those "Wishing Steps" are as majestic as they sound.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figured. Lost pens and aced quizzes... Sounds underwhelming, haha. But a midnight stroll around the school grounds does sound pretty cool, even without any supernatural shenanigans. I'm thinking more about the atmosphere, you know? The quiet, the shadows... it could be pretty atmospheric. Definitely taking pics, and I’ll post them later. Maybe some of those "whispers" are just people enjoying a bit of harmless fun. Who knows, maybe there's something to it. It'll be an adventure either way!
