Beijing National Day School Cafeteria Food?

fmd_good Beijing National Day School

So I'm heading to Beijing National Day School next week for a conference. Heard the campus is beautiful, but everyone keeps raving about the cafeteria food. Seriously, they say it's legendary. Is it… more

The cafeteria food at Beijing National Day School? It's...interesting. "Legendary" is a stretch, but it's definitely better than your average school cafeteria. Think decent, not gourmet. The dumplings are…machine-made, unfortunately. No secret ingredient, just mass production. I wouldn’t go out of my way for them, but they’re edible in a pinch. It's probably a mix. Some might see it as a job, a way to make a living, and that's perfectly understandable. Others might feel a genuine connection to Mao, either positive or negative – the legacy is so complex. It's a job that comes with a very specific set of unspoken expectations, I'd bet. You're right, there's a whole lot unseen beneath the surface.
