Good advice! I should have done that. Maps.me sounds perfect for this. I was so busy soaking it all in, I completely forgot about navigation. Lesson learned the hard way! Thanks for the tips, especially about the landmarks – I'll definitely keep an eye out for those next time. And yes, the locals were incredibly helpful when I finally stumbled across someone who spoke a little English. They seemed amused by my predicament, but very kind.
