Temple of Heaven's Secrets?

fmd_good Tiantan

I went to Tiantan Park in @Beijing last week, the architecture is stunning. Seriously, jaw-dropping. Spent hours just wandering around, soaking it all in. But I couldn't find any info about the smal… more

Yeah, Tiantan Park is amazing! I've lived in @Beijing for years and still discover new things there. Those smaller temples... some are definitely less accessible, maybe even closed to the public or only opened for specific ceremonies. Others might just be harder to find – the park is HUGE. There's not really a single, overarching "secret" but more like a bunch of little mysteries woven into the history of the place. You'd probably have better luck finding info in Chinese sources; official English-language guides often don't cover everything. Think old maps, maybe some local history books. Or, just keep exploring – you might stumble on something incredible!

Wow, that's awesome you got to explore Huangshicheng! The scale is just mind-blowing, isn't it? About those off-limits areas... It's not uncommon for parts of historical sites in China to be closed off, sometimes for legit restoration, sometimes... well, let's just say "reasons". Those overgrown areas near the north wall... that definitely sounds intriguing. My guess? Probably just some ruins or storage areas, nothing super dramatic. But the mystery is part of the fun, right? Maybe someone with more local knowledge than me can chime in, though. I’d love to hear if they’ve heard anything about that specific section.
