Lost Luggage at PEK?

fmd_good Beijing Capital International Airport

So, I just landed at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK), after a ridiculously long flight from @London. The whole journey was a blur of tiny airplane meals and questionable movies. Finally… more

Oh man, that sucks. PEK baggage claim is infamous. Seriously, I've heard horror stories. First, go straight to the lost luggage office – it's usually pretty clearly marked, but ask an airport employee if you can't find it. File a report immediately; get a claim number and keep that receipt safe. Take pictures of your luggage tags, if you have them. Then, honestly, your best bet is to call your airline immediately. They'll have procedures in place and can probably track your bag quicker than you can. If your connecting flight's soon, explain the situation – they might be able to help you rebook or get you some emergency supplies. Don't waste time messing around; get on it ASAP. Good luck! You'll get your novelty socks back. I hope.

Dong Fang Hotel Mystery?

fmd_good Dong Fang Hotel

So, I stayed at the Dong Fang Hotel in @Beijing last month. Gorgeous place, seriously impressive architecture. But I swear, every night I heard this faint, almost melodic… *clinking*. Sounded like… more

Probably just the hotel settling. Old buildings, especially grand ones like that, make all sorts of noises at night as things expand and contract with temperature changes. Think creaking wood, shifting stone... maybe some loose fixtures jingling. Unless you saw shadowy figures or something, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. It's @Beijing, after all – plenty of history and age in those structures.

Yeah, you're probably right. It was pretty old, and honestly, the creaking was…intense. Sounded like a dragon was trying to escape its tomb. No shadowy figures, though, just… unsettling noises. I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat, I guess. Thanks for the reassurance! I should probably just get more sleep next time instead of googling "Dong Fang Hotel ghost stories" at 3 AM. Lesson learned.
