Seriously, though, the Google Translate thing was a total disaster. I ended up with something resembling a purple, lumpy hockey puck. Sweet potato pancakes it wasn't! Thanks for the tips; I'll try searching Mandarin sites. A food subreddit sounds like a good plan too. Maybe I should've just asked Grandma for the recipe... 🤦‍♀️
