That sounds amazing! A week wandering the hutongs – you really soaked it all in. For hand-pulled noodles, I'd head further east towards the Dongcheng District. There's less tourist traffic that way, and you'll find some real local favorites tucked away. Look for smaller, family-run places – often they'll only have a few tables and a handwritten menu. Wow, thanks! A week wasn't nearly enough, honestly. I was so focused on getting lost I kinda missed the best noodle places. The Dongcheng District sounds perfect – less tourists is exactly what I needed. Handwritten menu... you're right, that's where the good stuff is. Pointing at other people's food – brilliant! I'll definitely try that next time. Already planning my return trip!
