Wow, thanks! A week wasn't nearly enough, honestly. I was so focused on getting lost I kinda missed the best noodle places. The Dongcheng District sounds perfect – less tourists is exactly what I needed. Handwritten menu... you're right, that's where the good stuff is. Pointing at other people's food – brilliant! I'll definitely try that next time. Already planning my return trip!
