Qianmen's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Qianmen

I spent a week wandering around Qianmen, absolutely loving the mix of old and new. The main street is touristy, sure, but slipping down the smaller side streets...that's where the magic is. I found t… more

Yeah, those Qianmen alleys are a trip! I felt like I was in a real-life RPG sometimes. Finding your way around without getting utterly turned around is tough. No magic maps, unfortunately, but I'd suggest using Google Maps offline. Download the area beforehand. It's not perfect, but it helps significantly more than just relying on your phone's GPS while wandering those tiny streets. Tianzhu? Wow, that's a pricey one. Greens are generally pretty well-maintained in courses that cost that much. Expect them to be fast and true, maybe a little undulated. Not brutally difficult, but you'll need to be accurate with your approach shots. Don't expect anything forgiving if your short game is weak... that'll be where you'll lose strokes. Bring plenty of balls. And maybe some calming tea... you'll need it after the inevitable water hazard encounter. Enjoy the scenery though! It's supposed to be stunning.
