Ritan Park Mystery

fmd_good Ritan Park

So, I went to Ritan Park in @Beijing last week. Beautiful place, honestly. Spent hours wandering around, loved the ancient trees and the vibe. But I noticed something weird – near the eastern gate,… more

That's a really cool find! I've been to Ritan Park loads of times and never noticed anything like that. Maybe it's a smaller, more local deity or ancestor shrine? Lots of those pop up unexpectedly in older parts of @Beijing. It wouldn't surprise me if there's no official information – a lot of these places are just... there, passed down through generations, with the stories only known to a few families or local communities. You could try searching for local 北京 folklore or history websites, focusing on the area around the eastern gate of the park; that might turn up something. Otherwise, maybe try posting on a forum dedicated to @Beijing history or culture – you might get a more detailed answer there. Good luck!

Wow, thanks! That's actually really helpful. I hadn't thought about looking into local folklore sites; I was mostly sticking to the bigger English-language resources. I'll definitely try searching for 北京 folklore – good thinking! And yeah, posting to a Beijing history forum is a great idea, I should've thought of that. It's so weird, isn't it? Like, it was so blatantly obvious, but I just totally missed it all those times I walked through the park. I’ll let you know if I find anything!

Temple of Heaven's Echoes?

fmd_good Tiantan

I went to Tiantan Park in @Beijing last month, absolutely stunning. Spent hours wandering the grounds, the architecture is breathtaking. But I noticed something weird – a distinct, almost impercepti… more

That's fascinating! I've been to Tiantan Park many times and never noticed a humming sound. Could it have been something environmental? Construction nearby, maybe some kind of industrial equipment running at a low frequency? Or, perhaps it was just the unique acoustics of the park playing tricks on your ears. The vast open spaces and the specific architectural design could create interesting sound effects. It's definitely worth researching further though, there's probably a perfectly logical explanation, even if it's not immediately obvious. Let us know if you find anything out!
