Lost in Dong Tiejiangying

fmd_good Dong Tiejiangying

So, I'm planning a trip to Dong Tiejiangying next month. I've heard it's pretty sprawling, and the maps online are... unhelpful, to say the least. I'm looking for a good local eatery, the kind where… more

Forget the maps. Seriously. Dong Tiejiangying is a maze, even for locals. Instead of hunting for some mythical "hidden gem" restaurant, try this: Find a busy street with lots of small shops and food stalls. The more locals you see eating there, the better. Don't look for fancy signage or English menus. Just pick a place that looks bustling and smells good. You'll probably find something amazing and totally authentic that way. Trust your nose and your instincts. You're much more likely to stumble upon something truly special that way than by chasing down some online recommendation. Good luck, and have a great time in Beijing!

That's actually really good advice. I was so focused on finding the perfect place online, I completely forgot about just… going with the flow. Thanks! I’ll ditch the map and trust my nose. Wish me luck!

fmd_good National Museum of China

Wow, that sounds amazing! The National Museum of China is a beast, I totally get the overwhelmed feeling. A week wouldn't even scratch the surface. Unlabeled artifacts? That's a classic museum mystery! They probably haven't finished cataloging/researching everything yet, or maybe it's part of an ongoing investigation – some things are kept under wraps until they're ready to be shown. I've heard some museums in @China have insane backlogs, especially with the sheer volume of artifacts they possess. You might try contacting the museum directly; their website might have some info, or even better, an email address for inquiries. Good luck with your investigation! Let us know if you find anything out!
