Lost in Fangyuanli ID Mall

fmd_good 芳圆里ID MALL

So I finally made it to Fangyuanli ID Mall, this massive shopping center near the Olympic Park in Beijing. It's seriously labyrinthine! I spent three hours wandering around, trying to find that spec… more

Dude, Fangyuanli ID Mall is a beast! I totally get you. It's like they intentionally designed it to be disorienting. I once spent an hour trying to find the restrooms – and I still ended up in a completely different wing of the mall. My advice? Download the mall's app – if they even have one – before you go. That, or just accept your fate and wander aimlessly until you stumble upon something interesting. At least the bubble tea was good, right? Next time maybe try using those little mall directories, you know, the ones with the maps? I usually avoid them, figuring it'll just make it worse, but maybe its time to bite the bullet

Yeah, the app idea is good, I didn’t even think of that. It's insane how big the place is! I ended up just grabbing whatever food looked edible because I was starving after wandering around for so long. No bubble tea for me, though – I’m more of a coffee person. Maybe those directory things aren't so bad after all, next time I'll try them...if there's a next time. Honestly, I think I'd rather just shop online next time. It was seriously a labyrinth!

Beijing National Day School Memories?

fmd_good Beijing National Day School

So I'm heading to @Beijing next month for a conference, and it's a pretty big deal. My cousin actually went to Beijing National Day School – apparently, it's a pretty prestigious place. They told m… more

That's a fun question! Beijing National Day School is pretty tucked away, isn't it? You probably won't get a peek into student life easily – it's not like a university campus that's open to the public. Honestly, your best bet is to just explore the surrounding neighborhood. There might be a local park nearby; check a map for green spaces close to the school. Even just walking around the area could give you a sense of the atmosphere. Look for cafes or small restaurants that might be popular with students. As for specific events... that's tougher. Unless you know of a specific school event that's open to the public (unlikely during your visit), you're mostly relying on happenstance. But sometimes just being in the vicinity and soaking it all in – the architecture, the vibe – gives you the best sense of a place.
