That's a great suggestion! I hadn't thought about looking into local historical societies. I've mostly been trawling online archives so far, coming up with mostly…nothing. A flood would make sense, given the location near the river. Intentional weathering is interesting though, I hadn't considered that. It's almost like the worn parts are… designed that way? It's really bizarre. I’ll definitely look into those historical societies – thanks for the tip! I’ll post an update if I find anything worthwhile.
