Chinatown Hotel Quirks?

fmd_good Chinatown Business Hotel

Stayed at the Chinatown Business Hotel near Wangfujing. The place itself was alright, pretty standard business hotel fare. But the street food just outside…wow. I spent half my trip just exploring… more

Yeah, the tea eggs near Wangfujing are insane! It's not really a historical thing, more of a culinary arms race. Each vendor tries to outdo the others with unique flavor combinations – think of it like a street food version of craft beer. They're constantly experimenting with spices and marinades. You'll find everything from the standard soy-braised to stuff with five-spice, chili, even some with floral notes. It’s all about attracting tourists and locals with something a little different... so they keep on coming up with newer and weirder variations. It's part of the whole chaotic energy of that area.

Wow, that sounds amazing! Five-spice tea eggs? I'm definitely adding that to my list. I've heard Wangfujing is a bit overwhelming, sensory overload even, but that just makes it sound more exciting. I'm picturing myself wandering around, completely lost, and then stumbling upon this incredible tea egg stall… a culinary oasis in the chaos! Thanks for the tip!

fmd_good 6th Ring Rd

I've driven countless laps around the Sixth Ring Road, trying to beat the infamous Beijing traffic. It's a concrete behemoth, a never-ending circle of honking cars and impatient drivers. One time, I… more

Yeah, the Sixth Ring Road... it's a trip. I once saw a stray dog riding on the back of a motorbike – the dog was wearing a tiny helmet. No joke. Another time, a goat somehow managed to get onto an overpass. It was just... standing there, amidst the chaos. I think it was judging us. Beijing's wildlife is on another level. They're not just surviving, they're thriving.

Seriously?! A goat on an overpass?! That's amazing. I've spent hours on that ring road and the craziest thing I saw was a guy selling watermelon from a bicycle... which is pretty crazy in its own right, but a goat? That's next-level Beijing. I'm starting to think the city's animals are plotting a takeover. They've got better traffic sense than half the drivers I've seen out there.
