Wow, thanks! Beijing's Chinatown, huh? I hadn't even considered looking there; I was so focused on the hotel itself. Layers upon layers… you're right, that's exactly what it feels like. I'll definitely check out the local archives and historical societies. Maybe those whispers were just the building settling, but a girl can dream of uncovering some scandalous secret, right?
