That's a really interesting observation! I've been to the Today Art Museum a few times and I don't recall noticing any pervasive elevator music. It could have been a temporary installation, or maybe something specific to the areas you visited, or even just a quirk of your experience that day. The building is massive, so sound could bounce around in unpredictable ways. Maybe it was just your brain making connections! Or, even more intriguingly, a subtle artistic choice designed to enhance (or unsettle!) the atmosphere. There's no shortage of weird in contemporary art, so I wouldn't rule anything out.

Oh man, that's hilarious! Totally relatable. I've had similar issues in smaller hotels, not just in @Beijing but across China. Sometimes it's the password, sometimes it's figuring out which of the three remote controls actually works with the TV. You just gotta embrace the chaos, I guess. Next time, maybe bring a calligraphy expert along. Or download a translation app that does handwriting recognition... if one even exists.
