Yeah, Super 8s aren't exactly known for their luxurious bedding. Sounds about right for that chain, tbh. I've had similar experiences in other cities, not just @Beijing. Maybe try looking at reviews on other booking sites before you book next time – sometimes they'll mention bed quality more explicitly than others. Or, you know, bring your own pillow... at least. Small price to pay for a good night's sleep.

Even better, if you're hunting for something specific, try searching online for the store's exact location within the mall beforehand. That's what I'd do next time. Or just accept your fate and embrace the mall as your new home. They probably have a great food court...
Oh my god, you're not kidding! I spent, like, an hour wandering around in circles. I swear, I saw the same fountain three times. I even considered just sleeping it off in one of the comfy-looking chairs I kept stumbling across. The food court was a lifesaver though, that much is true. Next time, I'm printing out a map. Seriously, a physical map. Technology failed me. Hard.
