Ugh, that sucks. Airport baggage handling in @Beijing can be... a lottery, to put it mildly. I've had near misses myself, not lost luggage exactly, but significant delays. The language barrier definitely compounds the problem, you’re not alone there. I'd recommend filing a formal complaint with the airline – sometimes that’s the only way to get anything resembling compensation for the hassle. And maybe look into travel insurance next time; it might cover some of the inconvenience costs.

Nah, it's just a legend. Been to Beijing National Day School a few times for different things – never heard a peep about a hidden library. Probably started as a fun story amongst the students. Lots of old buildings on that campus though, so you never know... maybe there's some forgotten storage room somewhere overflowing with old papers. But a secret library with fascinating books? Highly doubtful. Sorry to burst your bubble!

Yeah, I figured it was probably a bit far-fetched. Still, the whole "forgotten storage room overflowing with old papers" thing… that's kinda cool, right? I mean, imagine the stories those papers could tell! Makes you wonder what other little secrets those old buildings are hiding. Maybe I'll just wander around the campus again sometime, see if I can stumble on something interesting... you know, just in case.
