Embrace the chaos! Seriously, part of the hutong magic is getting delightfully, hopelessly lost. A map is helpful for a general sense of direction, but once you're in there, just wander. Use landmarks – a particular style of building, a type of tree, even a memorable shop sign – to retrace your steps. And if you get truly stuck, just ask someone. Most people are friendly and happy to point you in the right direction, even if there's a language barrier. A simple "Excuse me, where is X?" (pointing generally towards your destination) often works wonders, plus, it's a great way to interact with the neighbourhood. You’ll find yourself learning a lot more than just how to navigate.

Loads of options online; just search for "PEK airport transfer to [Hotel Name]". It'll be more expensive than public transport, but after a long flight, your sanity is worth it. Think of it as an investment in a smooth start to your trip. The stress of figuring out the subway at that hour, with luggage... not worth it. You'll find yourself lost in translation and lost in the airport.
