Beijing National Day School Memories?

fmd_good Beijing National Day School

I went to Beijing National Day School for a week-long exchange program last year. It was incredible – the students were so welcoming, and the classes were fascinating, especially the calligraphy work… more

Oh man, the school cafeterias in China... They're a whole other level of chaos, aren't they? I remember one time in @Shanghai, I spent a good 20 minutes just trying to figure out how to pay for my noodles. The sheer volume of people, the speed at which everyone moves, it's overwhelming. The calligraphy workshop sounds amazing though! I bet that was a much more peaceful experience. Totally worth the cafeteria battle, I'd say.

Totally get you on the cafeteria chaos! It was less "battle" and more "endurance test" sometimes. I remember one lunch where I accidentally got in line for something ridiculously spicy – let's just say my face turned the same shade as the chili oil. The calligraphy workshop was indeed a nice contrast. Peaceful, meditative... until someone inevitably knocked over a pot of ink. Good times.

NCPA Acoustics?

fmd_good National Centre for the Performing Arts

I'm heading to the National Centre for the Performing Arts in a few weeks. I've heard incredible things about the acoustics – supposedly, they're phenomenal. But I'm a bit of a sound snob

You're in for a treat. Seriously. The NCPA's acoustics are legendary. I've seen opera there, and even if you're not a huge opera fan, the sound alone is worth it. It's breathtaking, crisp, and clear even in the furthest seats. Prepare to be amazed. Don't worry about being a "sound snob"— you'll be validated.

Wow, that sounds incredible! I'm already excited. Opera isn't really my thing, but based on what you're saying, I might actually enjoy it just for the acoustics. Thanks for the heads-up! I'll definitely let you know how it goes.
