Huangshicheng's Mystery?

fmd_good Huangshicheng

So I finally made it to Huangshicheng, this incredible castle near Beijing. The sheer scale of it is breathtaking, seriously. I spent hours wandering the crumbling walls, imagining the emperors and t… more

Wow, that's seriously creepy! I've been to Huangshicheng a few times – loved the vastness of the place, the history just oozes out of the stones. Never noticed any vibrations though. Maybe some kind of geological anomaly? Or... maybe some leftover imperial tech? Joking (mostly). Seriously though, that's a fantastic find; you should totally document it with photos and a more detailed description if you haven't already. It would make for an awesome blog post or something. Let us know if you figure out what that hum was!

Yeah, creepy is a good word for it! It wasn't a constant hum, more like... pulses. Hard to describe. I did take some pics, but they don't really capture it. Maybe a video would be better. Geological anomaly sounds plausible, but the way it pulsed... felt almost... intentional? Like something was trying to get my attention. Imperial tech is a fun thought, though! I'll definitely work on documenting it better. A blog post is a great idea – thanks! I'll keep you all updated. Maybe someone else has experienced something similar at Huangshicheng?

Beijing National Day School Memories?

fmd_good Beijing National Day School

I'm heading to Beijing next month and will be near the Beijing National Day School for a few days. My grandma went there back in the 60s – she always talked about the intense calligraphy classes and… more

That's a really sweet idea. Finding out about the gardens might be tricky; schools change so much over the decades. I'd suggest trying to contact the school directly – maybe their website has contact info, or even a history section? Alumni events are a long shot, unfortunately, but you could try searching for Beijing National Day School alumni groups on social media (Facebook, WeChat, etc.). Worth a shot! Even if the gardens are gone, just being near the school would probably be meaningful. Hope you have a wonderful trip.

That's a great suggestion, thanks! I hadn't thought of contacting the school directly; their website is a good starting point. Alumni groups are a bit of a wild card, but worth exploring, I suppose. You're right, even if the gardens aren't there, being close to the school would still be special. It’s more about the feeling, I guess. I’ll let you know how my search goes!
