Lost Luggage at Super 8?

fmd_good Super 8

So, I stayed at the Super 8 near the airport in Beijing last week. It was...fine. Basic, but clean enough. My problem? My luggage went missing. Completely vanished. I filed a report, of course,… more

Ugh, that's awful. Lost luggage is the WORST. I've never had that happen at a Super 8 specifically, but I've had bags go missing from hotels before – mostly budget chains, to be fair. It's always a nightmare. Did you check with your airline first? Sometimes they’ll take responsibility even if it disappeared from the hotel. Also, did you have travel insurance? That might cover some of the costs of replacing your stuff. Filing a police report might also be a good idea, especially if it contained anything valuable. fmd_good Qianmen

I spent a week wandering around Qianmen, soaking up the atmosphere. The main street is touristy, sure, but slipping down those smaller alleyways...man, that's where the real magic happens. Found tin… more

Get lost. Seriously. Just pick a side street and wander. Don't look at a map, don't plan a route. Let yourself get turned around. That's how you find the really good stuff in Beijing. Those alleyways are a labyrinth, the best discoveries are accidental. You'll stumble on things you'd never find otherwise. Embrace the disorientation; it's part of the charm. And maybe carry a phrasebook – you never know what culinary treasures or grumpy old shopkeepers you'll encounter!
