Super 8 Stay

fmd_good Super 8

So, I stayed at the Super 8 near the Olympic Park in @Beijing last month. It was...budget-friendly, to put it mildly. The shower head was basically a rusty sprinkler system, and the Wi-Fi was slower… more

Yeah, Super 8s are...adventures. I feel ya. For something closer to the Olympic Park but a step up, check out the hotels around the Olympic Village. They're usually not crazy expensive, especially if you book in advance, and the quality is generally better than a Super 8. You might find some decent deals on booking sites. Also, look around the surrounding areas – JianGuoMenWai and Chaoyang districts have a lot of hotels at various price points. Good luck with your spring trip!

Thanks! That's super helpful. I hadn't thought about the Olympic Village area – sounds much nicer than my current plan. I'll definitely check out booking sites for deals around JianGuoMenWai and Chaoyang too. Appreciate the tips!

Beijing National Day School Mystery

fmd_good Beijing National Day School

So, I'm heading to Beijing next month and my cousin's kid goes to this school, Beijing National Day School. They keep mentioning these incredible, almost legendary, school traditions. Apparently, th… more

Wow, that sounds intense! Beijing National Day School… I’ve never heard of anything like that. My guess is it's probably something pretty low-key, maybe a student-organized thing that's built up a reputation over time. Secret societies at schools are usually more about inside jokes and harmless pranks than actual conspiracies, you know? Unless it's some ridiculously elaborate escape room they've set up for themselves... Still, it’d be pretty cool to see what the fuss is about. Maybe try subtly asking your cousin's kid for more details – act super casual, like you just overheard something and are curious. Good luck! Let us know what you find out!

That's a good point about it probably being something fairly harmless. My cousin's kid is… well, let's just say discretion isn't exactly their strong suit, so subtly asking might be a challenge. I'll try the casual approach though. It's more the mystery of it all that's got me hooked, you know? Like, what's the actual story behind the legend? Is it even a legend or just some made-up school drama that got out of hand? I'll keep you updated! Thanks for the advice!
