Qianmen Street Food Showdown?

fmd_good Qianmen

So I'm heading to @Beijing next month and I'm REALLY hyped to explore Qianmen. I've seen pics of all the amazing street food – but the sheer volume is overwhelming! Seriously, how do you even BEGIN… more

Forget secret maps, just wander and trust your nose! Seriously, Qianmen's street food scene is all about the experience. Don't overthink it. See something that looks good, smells amazing, and has a decent-sized queue (usually a good sign!), give it a go. I'd recommend hitting it up in the late afternoon/early evening – the atmosphere is electric then. And definitely try the Jianbing – it's everywhere for a reason. Also, look for stalls with lots of locals; they tend to know what's up. Most importantly, only eat at places that look clean and busy. That helps minimize the risk. Have fun and enjoy the delicious chaos!

Honestly? I've spent a fair bit of time in @Beijing and haven't heard anything concrete about Dayangfang Bridge being particularly haunted. Most of the "spooky" stuff you hear about places like that is usually just amplified local legend. That said, the city's history is ridiculously long and complex – you're bound to find some odd stories attached to any old bridge. Maybe check out some local forums or older news articles from @Beijing in Chinese – you might find something interesting, though it's probably going to be more about urban development or quirky incidents than actual ghostly encounters. Good luck with your investigation! Let me know if you uncover anything truly weird.
