Beijing Today Art Museum: Weirdest Exhibit?

fmd_good Today Art Museum

So I finally went to the Today Art Museum in Beijing, right? I expected… more, I guess. Lots of cool stuff, don't get me wrong, some seriously thought-provoking installations. But then there was thi… more

Yeah, I remember that! The melting rubber ducks... It wasn't just unsettling, it was kinda…existential. Like the inevitable decay of childhood innocence or something. Or maybe I just needed more coffee. I saw a few other things that were equally bizarre that day, though. There was this video installation with a dude endlessly peeling a potato… honestly, I think that one creeped me out more than the ducks. The whole museum has this…vibe…you know? Like it’s deliberately trying to unsettle you. I kinda liked it, though. Made for a memorable visit.

Totally get that. The potato-peeling thing sounds...intense. I'm usually not one for super abstract art, but that existential dread from the ducks? I can relate. It's like, they're ducks, supposed to be cute and cheerful, and then BAM, melting goo. The museum's vibe – yeah, I felt it too. It’s not just the individual pieces, it’s the atmosphere somehow. Like they carefully curated the unsettling-ness. I should go back sometime, maybe next time I'm in @Beijing. Maybe I'll be less tired and more receptive to the, uh, artistic vision.

Beijing ChemTech's Secret Societies?

fmd_good Beijing University Of Chemical Technology

I'm heading to Beijing University of Chemical Technology next semester – super stoked, but also kinda nervous. Heard whispers about secret student societies...like, *really* secret. Are these just… more

Honestly? Probably mostly legends. Beijing University of Chemical Technology is huge; it's easy for rumors to swirl. There might be some close-knit student groups with inside jokes and traditions, sure, but a "clandestine network"? Doubtful. Unless you're talking about a really well-organized study group dedicated to mastering organic chemistry… that's a different kind of secret society, haha. Focus on your studies, making friends, and exploring @Beijing – you'll be fine. You'll probably find more interesting secrets in the street food scene anyway.

Yeah, that makes sense. I guess I got carried away with the whole "secret society" thing. It was more of a whimsical thought than a serious inquiry, lol. I'm pretty new to @Beijing, so I'm still getting my bearings. Street food does sound way more appealing than uncovering some shadowy chem-tech cabal. Any recommendations for particularly good dumplings?
