Nah, the Today Art Museum rooftop's pretty much all open. You saw the best of it. Maybe try going super early in the morning or on a weekday to avoid the biggest crowds, but there aren't any secret nooks up there. It's all pretty much out in the open, which is part of the appeal I guess. The views are the star of the show, not some hidden photo spot.

Bring milk! Seriously, dairy products help neutralize the capsaicin. Also, rice. Plain, white rice is your best friend. It soaks up the heat. And don't be afraid to order something with less spice – many Sichuan restaurants offer different spice levels, or have dishes that are naturally milder. Maybe try a Dan Dan noodle dish, and specify "less spicy" when you order. You'll still get amazing flavors without the inferno. Learning a few basic Mandarin phrases to ask for spice level adjustment would also be helpful. Good luck on your next adventure!
