Wow, that sounds amazing! Hours getting lost? Sign me up. Cheap and delicious noodles are my kryptonite, so that alone seals the deal. I always figured the main street was touristy, but those alleyways sound like the real deal. Thanks for the tip; I'll definitely prioritize exploring the hutongs next time I'm in Beijing.
