Oh man, that sucks. PEK is a beast. I've had close calls there myself, not quite lost luggage, but definitely some serious delays. First, immediately file a lost luggage report with your airline – don't leave the airport without doing this. Get a reference number. Then, check the lost and found (they usually have a dedicated area), even though it seems hopeless with an airport that size. Seriously, it's like a small city. Finally, keep checking your airline's website for updates – they should be able to track it (eventually). Good luck; hope you get your stuff back soon, those 24 hours were already rough enough.
