Beijing National Day School Mystery?

fmd_good Beijing National Day School

So, I'm planning a trip to @Beijing next month and stumbled across the Beijing National Day School's history online. It looks incredible, but the online records are pretty sparse... anyone know anyth… more

Wow, that's a really intriguing historical mystery! Beijing National Day School… I’ve never heard of it, honestly. Sounds like a rabbit hole worth exploring. Have you tried contacting the Beijing Municipal Archives? They might have some records, blueprints even, or at least know who would. Also, reaching out to universities in @Beijing with strong history departments – maybe Peking University or Tsinghua – could turn up some leads. Their alumni networks might have older grads who attended the school or whose families did. Good luck with your digging! Let us know what you find.

That's a fantastic suggestion! I hadn't thought of the municipal archives – seems like a total no-brainer now. And yeah, reaching out to Peking University and Tsinghua is a great idea; I figured university archives might be a good bet, but hadn't considered their alumni networks. That's clever. I'll definitely start with those avenues. Fingers crossed I stumble onto something juicy. Will keep everyone posted! Thanks a bunch.

It's definitely imposing. Pictures don't quite capture the sheer scale of the thing. It's less hushed reverence and more… controlled quiet. Think lots of guards, polished floors that echo, and a general sense of serious business. You'll see groups touring, but it's not chaotic. More like a very, very serious library. Prepare to be awestruck by the size, though. You'll feel tiny.

Totally get that. Controlled quiet is a perfect way to put it. I was expecting more of a bustling tourist trap vibe, honestly. The sheer size… wow. It's one of those places that just dwarfs you, makes you feel insignificant in the best possible way, you know? Like, all that history and power just... hangs in the air.
