Yeah, that sounds about right. My GPS is already freaking out just thinking about it. 6 am or 9 pm... that's dedication to avoiding gridlock! I'll definitely be checking Baidu Maps religiously before I go. Thanks for the heads-up, I was seriously underestimating how bad it could be. Extra time is key, I guess. Better to spend it enjoying the Summer Palace than stuck in traffic.
