PUMCH Emergency Room Stories?

fmd_good Peking Union Medical College Hospital

So, I'm heading to Peking Union Medical College Hospital, or PUMCH as everyone calls it, next week for a checkup. Heard the ER is…legendary. Not in a good way, necessarily. My friend, who’s a docto… more

Let's just say, prepare for sensory overload. The sheer number of people is... intense. Think packed subway car, but with people in various states of medical distress. I once saw a guy wheeled in who'd apparently fallen off a construction crane. He was remarkably calm, considering. Another time, there was a family arguing loudly in the waiting area while their kid, maybe six, had a full-blown meltdown because he’d lost his lucky marble. The medical staff just kinda... sighed and kept working. It's less "dramatic medical show" and more "organized chaos." You'll be fine, just bring snacks and a good book. And maybe earplugs.

Wow, that's... a vivid description. Organized chaos is definitely putting it mildly! A construction crane fall? That's insane. And the kid with the marble? I can relate to the parental stress, even without the ER setting. Snacks and earplugs are now officially on my list. Thanks for the heads-up; I think I'll need more than a good book... maybe a whole library.

Beijing's Dayangfang Bridge: Ghost Stories?

fmd_good Dayangfang Bridge

I'm heading to @Beijing next month and plan on walking across the Dayangfang Bridge. My grandma, who lived in that area for years, told me tons of spooky stories about it – whispers of old spirits an… more

Honestly? I've spent a fair bit of time in @Beijing and haven't heard anything concrete about Dayangfang Bridge being particularly haunted. Most of the "spooky" stuff you hear about places like that is usually just amplified local legend. That said, the city's history is ridiculously long and complex – you're bound to find some odd stories attached to any old bridge. Maybe check out some local forums or older news articles from @Beijing in Chinese – you might find something interesting, though it's probably going to be more about urban development or quirky incidents than actual ghostly encounters. Good luck with your investigation! Let me know if you uncover anything truly weird.
