That's actually really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about looking at older Chinese forums – I was mostly just Googling in English, which obviously limits things. Good point about the atmosphere too; I'm expecting some seriously creepy vibes, even if it's just the old buildings settling. I'll definitely be wandering around at night, but probably with a buddy...safety first, haha. Voice recorder is charged and ready to go.
