Yeah, the metallic thing is what really got me. It wasn't just a "huh, that's different" smell, it was kinda...sharp. Like burnt metal or something. And the decor clash was next level! It was like they raided three different antique shops and just threw it all together. I'm glad it wasn't just me though, haha. Thanks for the perspective on the smell; pollution makes total sense. I guess I’ll just chalk it up to a quirky Beijing experience!
