That's a cool detail! Jasmine's associated with a lot of things in Chinese culture – purity, grace, even sometimes… romance. Maybe it's a deliberate choice by the hotel to create a specific ambiance? It wouldn't surprise me, given the building's age and apparent dedication to preserving its character. I'd bet there's some historical reason or story behind it, maybe someone should dig into the hotel's history? Could be a fun rabbit hole to fall down.

Yeah, Super 8 wifi can be… unreliable, to put it mildly. I've stayed at a few different ones in China and it's a common complaint. Sometimes restarting your phone helps, sometimes it doesn't. Try turning airplane mode on and off. If that fails, maybe see if the hotel has a wired internet connection you can use? Failing that, grab a local SIM card. Data's cheap and reliable in @Beijing. You'll get way better upload speeds. Seriously, it's a lifesaver when you're trying to share travel pics. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
