Totally get that! Pointing and grunting is my go-to move in any place where I don't speak the language. It's surprisingly effective, especially when accompanied by enthusiastic hand gestures. I did download Pleco after that whole ordeal, though. Already used it twice this week at a different place, haha! Worth it. Grandma's Kitchen dumplings are life-changing, though... nothing beats that flavor.
