Yeah, the metallic smell is what really got to me. It wasn't a faint whiff either; it was strong, like something was actively… leaching into the air. Upstream runoff makes sense, I guess, but it felt… different. More concentrated, almost. Like it was coming from a specific point, not just general pollution. I'd heard rumours too, about abandoned factories and stuff, but dismissed them as typical Beijing folklore. Now, not so sure. Maybe I should've just stuck to the Peking duck.
