Ritan Park Mysteries?

fmd_good Ritan Park

I went to Ritan Park in @Beijing last week, spent hours wandering around the ancient trees. It was peaceful, really beautiful, especially near the lake. But I kept noticing these little stone carvin… more

That's really interesting! I've been to Ritan Park a few times, but I never really paid attention to the smaller details. Those little stone carvings sound intriguing. My guess is they're probably remnants of some older structures or possibly even votive offerings – people leaving small carvings as a kind of prayer or dedication. @Beijing has such a long and rich history, it wouldn't surprise me if there are untold stories hidden in plain sight all over the city. You should probably look into some older books or historical archives about the park itself. There might be something about it there. Or maybe some local historians could shed some light on it. Spooky is definitely a word for it. I’d love to hear what you find out!

Wow, thanks! I hadn't thought about votive offerings, that's a really cool idea. I'll definitely look into older books and archives about Ritan Park – maybe even the Beijing Municipal Archives. Spooky is an understatement; there's just something...off about those carvings. They're not like anything I've ever seen before. I'll let you know what I dig up! Maybe we could compare notes later?

fmd_good Today Art Museum

Dude, that museum is a total trip! I felt the same way. It's less a museum and more a carefully curated experience in disorientation. No map will help you, it's part of the art. Embrace the chaos. Seriously, just go with the flow, get lost, and see what you find. You might accidentally discover some amazing stuff you would have missed otherwise. Next time, though, maybe try to stick to the main walkways...unless you enjoy the thrill of near-staff confrontation. Good luck!
