That's a really interesting take on it. I hadn't thought about the shift in interpretation over time, just the initial intent of the architecture as a power play. It makes you wonder what future generations will make of it all. Will it even be a site of pilgrimage in another hundred years? Or something else entirely? A museum of a bygone era, maybe? Crazy to think about.
