Totally get what you're saying. It's a shame, really. I was hoping for that serendipitous "discover a gem" moment, you know? Wandering those hutongs is half the fun, but the odds are stacked against you finding anything specific. Thanks for the uni tip though – hadn't thought of that! I'll try an online search, armed with more targeted keywords. Maybe I'll just end up at a massive chain bookstore, but hey, at least I'll have some books. Appreciate the advice!
