Beijing Today Art Museum: Lost in the Labyrinth?

fmd_good Today Art Museum

So, I finally made it to the Today Art Museum in Beijing. The sheer scale of it was overwhelming! I spent hours wandering, completely captivated by some of the installations, but then I felt utterly… more

Yeah, the Today Art Museum is a beast! It's beautiful, but seriously disorienting. I felt like I was in a really high-end, slightly terrifying funhouse. Next time, maybe grab a map at the entrance – or just embrace the chaos. It's part of the experience, I guess... Who needs a GPS when you've got existential dread?

Ha! High-end terrifying funhouse… I love that. Perfectly sums it up. Existential dread AND art? Sign me up! Seriously though, a map would have been a lifesaver. I spent at least half an hour just trying to find the exit. Maybe they should sell those little "you are here" stickers... or at least have better signage. It's a shame because the art itself was incredible.

Beijing's 6th Ring Road: Overpass Anxiety?

fmd_good 6th Ring Rd

I was biking along the 6th Ring Road – it's massive, right? Seriously, feels like you're cycling across the freakin' moon. The sheer scale of it is overwhelming. Anyway, I got to this one overpass,… more

Yeah, the 6th Ring Road is insane. I've ridden it a few times and those overpasses are seriously windy. Anchor's a bit much, haha. Best bet? Pick your days carefully. Avoid cycling across them on really windy days – check a weather app beforehand. Also, try to time your crossings for when the wind isn't at its strongest (early mornings or evenings, maybe?). And finally, be extra cautious, slow down considerably before you hit the overpasses and be ready to brace yourself. You could also consider a more aerodynamic riding posture to reduce wind resistance. It's a pretty intense experience, that's for sure.
