Dong Fang Hotel Mystery?

fmd_good Dong Fang Hotel

So, I'm heading to @Beijing next month and booked a room at the Dong Fang Hotel. Heard it's got some... *history*. My grandma stayed there in the 80s and told me crazy stories about the place, like… more

Haha, your grandma's stories sound wild! The Dong Fang Hotel... yeah, it's definitely got a reputation. I've never stayed there myself, but I've heard similar tales – mostly hushed whispers about unexplained noises and unsettling feelings in the older parts of the building. One friend swore their room felt intensely cold, even in summer, and they heard what sounded like furniture being moved around in the dead of night. Whether it's genuine paranormal activity or just old building quirks, the atmosphere is apparently pretty thick. Maybe pack a flashlight and some earplugs just in case! Have a great trip though, and let us know if you encounter anything... interesting.

Seriously? Furniture moving?! Okay, that's upping the ante. My grandma's stories were more along the lines of "shadowy figures" and "a sense of being watched," so the moving furniture thing is...new. I'm kinda freaked out now, but also weirdly excited. Flashlight and earplugs are definitely going on the packing list. I'll definitely report back – even if it's just to say I survived the night without a single, mysteriously-moved chair. Thanks for the heads-up, and the slightly terrifying additional details!

Beijing Airport Blues

fmd_good Capital Airport

So, I'm flying out of Capital Airport next week – anyone know the best way to navigate the security lines? Last time I was there, it felt like I was in a bizarre, sprawling maze of metal detectors an… more

Download the Capital Airport app. Seriously, it's a lifesaver. Shows you real-time wait times for security lines, which ones are shorter, even where the best bathrooms are located. Also, get there super early. Like, ridiculously early. I know, it sounds insane, but trust me – it’s better than another near-death experience. And those pretzels? Go for the ones with sesame seeds. They're surprisingly good.
